There are six proposed Amendments to the Florida Constitution on the November ballot. Be aware, these are NOT laws passed by the legislature that can be easily changed or removed by a different vote of the legislature. These constitutional amendments that, if approved, they can only be changed or removed by another ballot measure, which is almost unheard of. With laws (like the 6 week ban), you can badger the legislature into changing them, if enough people speak up. Constitutional amendments are different. Changes or appeals must first make it to a ballot, which is extremely difficult, and then the change must approved by more than 60% of voters.
Here are the six amendments on the 2024 General Election Ballot. Amendments 1, 2, 5 and 6 are proposed by the Florida Legislature. Amendments 3 and 4 are proposed by Political Action Committees. Click “more/less info” to read the ballot summary AND the full text of the actual Amendment that will be added to the Florida Constitution.

However, partisan primary elections may occur before the 2026 general election for purposes of nominating political party candidates to that office for placement on the 2026 general election ballot.”

This will add Section 28 to Article I of the Florida Constitution to preserve forever fishing and hunting and clearly states that it will not limit the authority granted by Section 9 of Article IV.
Vote NO (even if you believe in recreational use – read why below)—> Amendment 3: Adult Personal Use of Marijuana
What this will do:
- This will make marijuana production, possession and use legal in Florida.
Why NO?
- This will NOT make it legal for YOU to grow your own pot. You will only be able to buy it from a licensed entity, and right now all the entities are tied together, like a drug cartel, and this will solidify a legal drug cartel.
- This will create a legal monopoly and monopolies are NEVER good. The New York Post warns, “Be careful mixing weed and greed.”
- This will make Florida the largest pot grower in the WORLD. That’s not the claim to fame I want for my state.
- This will make us a “smelly” state like ALL the other states that have legalized marijuana use.
- This will hurt tourism, our biggest industry, and maybe even kill it. We will become a destination location for pot smokers, not families or vacationers, who currently spend lots of money.
- This will increase traffic accidents and decrease productivity, as it has ALREADY done in other states.
- Ask anyone you know from a state that has legalized marijuana use and see what they say. They NEVER have anything positive to say, and most say it ruined that state.
I got a postcard saying this would provide money for our schools. There is NOTHING about money for schools in this Amendment. There is NO mention of school, or education or anything related in the actual Amendment. Read the full text of the Amendment and you will see that is a lie!

Vote NO (even if you are pro-choice – read why below) —> Amendment 4: Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion
What this will do:
- This will eliminate ALL government control over abortion.
Why NO?
- This will REMOVE PARENTAL CONSENT, and replace it with parental notification, for all minors who want an abortion, and the parental notification can be done right before they start the procedure.
- This is too vague.
- This does not define viability, so it can be construed as until birth.
- This does not define healthcare provider, so it could be a nurse, nurse’s aid or even just staff.
- This does not allow for ANY government regulation of abortion, so NO regulations on quality or qualifications of providers, facilities or standards of care will be allowed.
- This will make us a destination location for abortion seekers. We will be the MOST LIBERAL STATE in regards to abortion.
- Want a 15-year-old girl to get an abortion WITHOUT parental consent, in her 8th month of pregnancy, in an dermatologist office, performed by a staff member? If your answer is no, then VOTE NO on this. That’s how vague this Amendment is.
- If you are Pro-Choice, lobby our legislature to remove or extend the 6-week ban, INSTEAD of voting for this vague and potentially harmful Constitutional Amendment. The legislature CAN change THEIR law with a SIMPLE majority vote of THEM, who may even be a different “them” once this election is over. This Constitutional Amendment, if passed, will be MUCH MUCH HARDER to repeal.

Summary that will appear on the ballot: “No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.
